Take the case of the Gonzalez family. Senora Gonzalez lost her husband and one child in a boating accident on Lake Chapala. Without her husband’s income, it was tough for her to support her remaining seven children. Now, she is working full time but needed a better, supervised environment for her younger children. Love in Action took in three of her daughters, one of whom has special needs. The oldest daughter has been helping out, first in the Love In Action nursery and now with the other special needs children.
Like kids elsewhere, kids at Love In Action want to go to summer camp, including the Gonzalez daughter. There’s a camp nearby, just south of Guadalajara, that provides two weeks of leadership development, confidence building and other social skills in a fun and challenging setting. There are 14 girls scheduled to attend but they need sponsors. The cost for the two weeks is $2,200 pesos. Can you help a kid go to summer camp this year? If so, please contact the Center below to make arrangements. Make this the summer where you made a difference!
