ONTARIO TRAVEL: TORONTO
We began and ended our trip to Ontario with Toronto. We began our first three days as guests of Derek and Merelyn in their beautiful Rosedale home close to the subway stop.
They were delightful hosts and prepared dinner for us and several other Ajijic friends on our third night in town.
Their town home was built on the site of the old carriage house to a neighboring estate. However, the gardens of the original estate had to be kept intact,
so where three homes now stand, the gardens adjoin.
Their home is elegantly and comfortably furnished. We enjoyed the garden suite on the lower level with bedroom and sitting room on two separate stays.
We returned to Toronto for our second stay to celebrate Mary and Estella's wedding on June 9. We met them at Gerard and Malcolms along with Betty and George and
Evaneline and after champagne headed out for dinner.

During our second stay in Toronto we toured the Royal Ontario Museum with its new ultamodern "Crystal" addition.
The new addition is just as spectacular inside as out including its collection of dinosaurs and the largest turtle skeleton ever discovered.
The older section with its original entrance pavilion is dedicated to early Ontario furniture, art and architecture.
After our tour we made our way to Liza's Garden Café on the top floor of the addition. The views of the city and rooftop garden were spectacular, as was our lunch.
On June 11 we attended Karen's birthday party at the Boulevard Club, a private club on the lakefront. We had run into Karen and David the day before at the Bloor
Street Diner where they were meeting their daughter. At the party Karen celebrates with husband David and Ajijic buddy, Ceci.
Since we had an early morning flight out of Toronto Airport on the 16th, the day after the wedding friends David and Claire dropped us off at Quality Suites Hotel at
the airport where we relaxed for the afternoon and then had dinner across the street at the Keg Restaurant. Our waiter treated us to dessert and champagne to celebrate
our nuptials. A delightful evening to end our adventures in Ontario.
